Your Guiding Light to a Historically Unforgettable View
While Virginia Beach is home to many fun festivities, it is also home to many important historical landmarks. One of these being the Cape Henry Lighthouse. Located on the north end of Virginia Beach’s coast, this lighthouse was the 4th oldest lighthouse in the country and authorized by George Washington! It is marked as a historical landmark as it protected and guided the vessels leaving and entering the Chesapeake Bay. In order to take in the entirety that Cape Henry offers its guests, tours are available and fairly cheap at only $10. The lantern room, located at the top of the lighthouse, features 360° views of the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic. The view of the coast is truly remarkable from the isolated height of this lighthouse. With 400 years of history and a spectacular view, the Cape Henry Lighthouse is not something you will want to skip out on while in Virginia Beach!
