Walking on Sunshine
The Virginia Beach Boardwalk is perhaps one of the most popular attractions in the city. Located right along the Oceanfront, this boardwalk extends three miles from 2nd street to 40th street. The pathway is about twenty-eight feet wide and consists of a walking path and a separate path for biking and rollerblading. Along the boardwalk there is an immense variety of outdoor restaurants and local shops as well as a few entertainment stages. Located on 7th, 17th, 24th, and 31st streets, these stages provide live musical entertainment every night during the summer months! In addition to the fun entertainment options offered, there are many quaint seating areas located along the path. One of my favorite hobbies while at the Boardwalk is to “people watch” while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Oceanfront. Also located along the Boardwalk is the 24-foot, bronze statue of King Neptune. Neptune is one of the most popularly photographed statues in the resort area. The Boardwalk is perfect for day or nighttime strolls to take in all that Virginia Beach has to offer!
